about

Christ be the Centre .
Sammy Horner / Mary Fleeson
One of the great poems/ prayers in Celtic Christianity is called, ‘St. Patrick’s Breastplate’. It reminds us of God’s protection and how he is all around us. In a similar tradition, Celtic Artist Mary Fleeson wrote a poem / prayer in her little devotional book ‘Woven Words’ (available form the Lindisfarne Scriptorium). She gracious allowed me to rework the words into this melody and so this is more of her work than mine. A good reminder of Christ our helper, fellow traveller and friend
Beki & Kylie lead the singing.

lyrics

Christ be the centre

Christ be the centre of my mind
Christ be in the centre of my heart
Christ be the centre of my thoughts
Touch every sentence I would start
Christ be a the centre of my joy and all my pain
at the centre of my journey
until I'm safe home again
Christ be the centre of my mind
Christ be in the centre of my heart
Christ be the centre of my thoughts
Touch every sentence I would start

Christ be the centre of my peace
Christ be the centre of my woe
Christ be the centre of my strife
Touch every good thing i would sow
Christ be a the centre of my joy and all my pain
at the centre of my journey
until I'm safe home again

Christ be the centre of my peace
Christ be the centre of my woe
Christ be the centre of my strife
Touch every good thing I would sow
